Our Year 4 Choir joined a choir of 6,000 school children at the Resorts World Arena on Thursday night to perform to a sell-out audience as part of the Young Voices Concert series. It was a wonderful experience in one of the country’s largest concert venues and the children sang and danced and waved their torches with big smiles on their faces. Amongst the guest performers were street dance group Urban Strides, British country duo The Shires, Ruti – the 2018 winner of the Voice UK television show and much to the delight of Mr Nicklin and Mrs Dredger – Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet fame! The children sang along to a huge compilation of songs ranging from the serenity of Ode to Joy, to Pop and Best of the West Medleys. The Frightfest Medley had everyone out of their seats doing the actions to Ghostbusters and the Monster Mash, and the night climaxed with a fantastic Queen Medley performed with Tony Hadley, ending with ‘Don’t stop me now’. Sure enough reluctantly we had to pack our bags and head off home on the coach. A late night but a memorable one for all who took part.
