Group A:
v Solihull (D 0-0) – As we played them last week we knew we needed to set up to defend the left hand side and it worked a treat. Filippos Pyschogios just couldn’t be beaten, but there were heroics by John Meering and Ben Southall. We held out for a 0-0 draw, such a positive start to the day.

v Altrincham College (D 0-0) – This game was played in the middle of the park for pretty much the duration of the 12 minutes. Only 1 penalty corner conceded and two shots at goal for us, 0-0 was the right result. Devastating as they finished top of our group!

v Witham Hall (D 1-1) – We finally broke the deadlock with excellent passing through midfield by Milo Dowling, leading to Freddy Williams striking the ball and hitting the backboard. The game was pressurised defending a 1-0 lead, and they scored with one of the last plays of the game through a penalty corner strike. We really deserved this win.

v The Elms, Malvern (L 2-1) – This was a game that we needed to win to try and sneak second in the group. Perhaps it was a little too much pressure as we conceded early. Good work from Ali Ahmed down the left hand side led to Ben Southall pushing forward and scoring another beauty of a strike from the top of the D. However they managed to sneak a winning goal under Filippos as he came out to close the attacker, and we finished 4th in the group.

Plate 1/4 final v Fairfield (L 1-0) – Wow how one player can win a game! Fairfield again scored a quite spectacular goal on the backhand which rocketed above Filippos and that was all that separated both teams. We had 2 penalty corners, and pushed hard but couldn’t find an equalising goal.

Very proud of all that these ten boys have achieved and the other eight who trained hard over the last 3 weeks to put boys’ hockey on the map at Blue Coat. Lots more promise to come.
