On Tuesday this week, Year 6 were enthralled by the Young Shakespeare’s performance of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, one of Shakespeare’s comedy plays. Pupils were selected throughout the afternoon to travel to Athens and visit a magical forest along with professional actors. Our BCS amateur actors were perfectly engaging and delivered their lines in a captivating manner. In our English lessons, year 6 have been immersed in various drama activities in class following this theatrical treat.

Pupil quotes as they left the Hall:

‘It was a hilarious and comical play. The actors played several parts fabulously!’ Bertie C
‘Joining in with the performance was excellent, great for so many Y6 pupils to be chosen. Really easy to follow too.’ Anya B
‘An interesting and imaginative play, where everyone was included.’ Elsie F
‘Lovely that they took the audience into consideration and taught the story with narration interweaved.’ Macca R-N
