The Yr 6 boys performed magnificently to reach the Aston Villa regional finals day final on 24th February. On the way they played 6 matches scoring 23 goals and conceding 1 en route to the final. The first game was a re-run of the qualifying final against Hallfield and the boys showed great character to avenge that defeat with a 3-0 victory. This was then followed up with a 3-0 v St Teresa’s, a 4-0 v Boldmere, and two more comprehensive victories against other schools. The semi final was against a very strong Three Peaks School from Tamworth and the boys played superbly to win comfortably 3-0. Bashir and Smallwood proving a real handful for the opposition defences.

The final against Boldmere again was a very tense affair with both schools having chances. Boldmere played some good football and dominated the midfield early but BCS fought back well hitting the bar twice. Extra time ensued and a Boldmere free kick hit the bar bounced down and rebounded over the line. It was a very unlucky ending to a fantastic day. All the boys performed heroically with some fine saves from Filippos great tackles by Harry, James and Mati as well as the interplay of Will, Freddie, Adam and Oliver. These boys were a credit to the School both on and off the pitch and I’m really hoping ISFA happens soon and they can go one better!
