Year 3 had a busy day learning about life in Roman times. The children got to experience life as a Roman soldier, learning battle formations and how to defend themselves from marauding Celts! Other activities included Roman board games and playing with genuine Roman marbles. Children also learned all about how the Romans transported water to cities and towns via aqueducts, as well as how Romans did laundry, went to the toilet and kept clean using oils and strigils. The children also got to learn a little Latin and ask questions of our Roman visitors. A fabulous time was had by all and the visiting Romans really brought Year 3’s new humanities topic to life.
