3MH visited the Barber Institute to look at some of the hundreds of paintings and sculptures on display there. They began by learning about the founding of the Institute by the Barber family. After this, they looked at paintings and sculptures, learned the Greek myth of Heracles and discovered what the ‘Renaissance Elbow’ is. This was as sign of power and importance in Renaissance art. To finish their trip they all made sculptures of heads out of clay in a workshop. Can you do the ‘Renaissance Elbow’? 3MH tried it outside the Barber Institute!
