Very well done to Simran in Year 6 who is raising money for the charity NHS Charities Together. This charity provides financial aid to the charities supporting the National Health Service during this very challenging time for the NHS. Simran and her brother are supporting this specific charity in memory of their late Grandfather, who sadly contracted COVID-19 earlier this month and passed away.
To help support the charity, Simran will be performing 260 Star Jumps everyday until 31st May, meanwhile her brother is cycling 260 Kilometres in May. Simran would be really grateful for any donations to her JustGiving page and her brother’s.
Well done, Simran!
Meanwhile, Mr Protherough is embarking on another big challenge!
“Tough days don’t last but tough people do!” somebody sent me this recently and it is so true. The world is a strange place at the moment but we will get back to some form of normality soon and when we do we need to be ready! Therefore I’ve decided to do a virtual run and bike the length and of the country for the NHS Charities Together and Bromsgrove Rugby Club.
I marvel everyday at the heroic work that the NHS are doing and working at The Blue Coat School in Harborne we have many parents who work in the medical profession therefore raising money for these charities was an obvious choice.
The rugby club has been a huge part of my life for the last 6 years. Like many sports clubs it is suffering hugely due to the coronavirus outbreak as all matches and events have been cancelled for the foreseeable future. When we come out of lockdown we are going to want strong community sports clubs so that life can return to some degree of normality quickly. Hopefully any funding I can raise for the club will help them do this. Please click here to donate.
