The Blue Coat School is soon to find out the outcome of its latest award nomination. On 4 November, iExcellence will announce the 2020 winner of the i25 Awards for innovation in the independent school sector.

Mr Neeson has been shortlisted amongst the country’s top 25 innovators and influencers for The BCS Blue. The Awards night was due to take place in March but was cancelled due to Covid-19. Instead, a virtual Awards Evening will be held at the beginning of next month.  The winning entry will be chosen by the other nominees which include Westminster School, Cheltenham Ladies College, Berkhamsted High School and Queen Ethelburga’s College.

The BCS Blue was runner up in The Times Strategic Education Initiative award category earlier in the year. It’s holistic approach assesses attitudes through the BCS Values as well as academic achievement in all subjects. In conjunction with Titus Learning, we have designed a bespoke online programme which allows us to share data with pupils and parents. Pupils are able to take ownership of their learning and understand their successes and next steps. At the end of  a two-year programme, pupils in Years 2, 4 and 6 will be awarded either a Pass, Merit, Distinction or Headmaster’s Honours award.
