The Year 4s looked splendid in their Tudor outfits on Wednesday. What a brilliant day! The classrooms became Tudor halls where the children learnt and performed three Tudor dances – the Pavane, the Galliard and the Almain. They created their very own coats of arms and then proudly displayed their colourful decorated shields. Next up was writing beautiful letters with quill pens, each one sealed with a wax seal. The children also learnt all about the Spanish Armada and about medicine during the Tudor period. Last but not least, the children discovered lots of interesting facts about Shakespeare’s life and his extensive contribution to the English language. Mrs James was then the lucky recipient of some Tudor insults! Much fun was had by all – thank you very much to all the parents who helped with the imaginative costumes.
