At 11 o’clock this morning across Prep and Pre-Prep we marked Remembrance Day with a virtual service, put together by Chaplain and Mr Nicklin. Despite not being able to gather together we did all we could to replicate this important occasion and give a sense of unity across the classrooms, as the children and teachers watched the service in their Bubbles. Mr Neeson gave a reading, Mr Singleton recited the famous poem ‘For the Fallen’ and our newly appointed school leaders read a poem and led the prayers. Chaplain reminded us of the important role that symbols play in remembering, especially focussing on the Poppy and the Cross.

It was very special to welcome Year 6 to Chapel in their Best Blue, where they were able to see the copper wreath brought to the altar, and hear Mrs Lynn talk about some of the historical ways we have celebrated Remembrance. Chapel looked beautiful, displaying various pieces of art that children have made across the years. The service ended with a recorded blessing of the Chapel choir singing ‘Go Forth in Peace’- a great encouragement to us all to seek to be peacemakers in our world.
