At the end of a long and busy term, when everyone is starting to feel a little tired and looking forward to the holidays it is easy to forget all that has been achieved at our school over the past 12 weeks.  The end of term Prep Celebration Assembly has become a fixture in the calendar to ensure that we, as a community, have a final celebration of everything that we have accomplished at Blue Coat over the course of a term.  With the COVID-19 pandemic, it was even more important to do this than ever, and the Michaelmas Term Celebration Assembly took place virtually on Friday morning.

Mrs Palmeri began by congratulating all children who have been in receipt of a Deputy Head Award and those children who have been recognised in the Academic Book of Excellence this term. She also commended those children who have now been handed their Bronze or Silver Merit Certificates for achieving 25 or 50 merits – the number of children warranting these awards demonstrates the continued hard work of both teachers and pupils in the classroom.

Miss Nazir has also been very proud of our Mathematicians this term, and she was delighted to award a large number of certificates for success in the Primary Maths Challenge.

There were no specific awards to hand out in relation to the Blue Coat Values, but Mr Newman wanted to give a special mention to those who have sat at the Golden Table with Mr Neeson this term, to those who have been their class Star of the Week, and to those who have received a Bubble Champion award.  These are all celebrated in weekly Year Group assemblies, and as the BCS Values remain at the heart of our school, the children must always be proud of these achievements.

Despite being unable to hold fixtures against other schools, the scale of our intra school programme has allowed Mrs Bennett and the Sports Department to award end of term sport prizes for ‘Most Improved Player’ and ‘Player of the Term’ – congratulations to All!

Mr Nicklin was next to celebrate achievement in his Music Department, and it was fantastic to see so much success in the recent ABRSM Music Examinations.

The assembly concluded with a message from our School Leaders, which can be viewed here. They were keen to emphasise how every pupil has made their own unique contribution to life at The Blue Coat School this term, and they wanted to thank the whole staff body for their contribution to a very enjoyable Michaelmas Term.
