It’s the most wonderful time of the year…. it certainly has been in Year 1. The children have had a really busy week leading up to the end of term. On Monday they watched a theatre company perform ‘Wow!’ said the owl, via Zoom. They then took part in a live workshop where they made cloud puppets. On Tuesday, the children had a wow morning where they exhibited their creative talents using clay, paint and collaging materials. They also made snowmen, beautiful cards, a pop up Santa and designed a bauble, with an inscription about the true meaning of Christmas on the back. The highlight of the week was going on an adventure to Forest School where they found a beautifully decorated, enchanting grotto. First, they had the opportunity to stroke the Nativity animals including a donkey, sheep and chickens. Each of them hung their baubles on a newly planted Christmas tree and finally, they went to see Santa. When they got back to their classrooms, the children were delighted to discover that Santa had left a treat for each of them! What a grand finale to what has been a very busy and successful half term.
Merry Christmas everyone!
