This week Chapel became an Easter garden, bursting with the colours of Spring! Every year group bubble had the opportunity to visit the garden for their own Easter service.
Nursery and Reception learnt that 3 shapes can help them to remember the meaning of Easter: a heart, a cross and an oval egg! Meanwhile Years 1 and 2 helped Chaplain’s puppet Rocky to go on an egg hunt around Chapel. Children read prayers, performed actions to some Easter songs and discovered the true meaning of Easter.
Throughout Prep, children narrated the Easter story and we heard some solo instrumentalists perform joyful pieces of music. Mr Neeson shared an Easter poem and Chaplain unpacked Jesus’s victory at Easter time. The children also brought into Chapel their Smarties tubes, containing donations for ‘Let’s Feed Brum’, as Chaplain reminded them that part of loving God is loving one another.
Huge thanks go to the whole team who worked hard to make these services so special, including Miss Akehurst, Miss Levett, Mr Nicklin, Mrs Lynn, Mr Isherwood and Mrs Walker, as well as all the children who read and performed so beautifully.
