Early Years have been really busy this first week back at school. We have started our new topic of ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ by looking at animals we might keep within our homes or as pets. We spoke about our own pets and how we take care of them.
Within literacy in Reception we have been focusing on the story ‘Six Dinner Sid’ by Inga Moore, we used speech bubbles to write our own captions we thought Sid may say in the different pictures. We went around the school grounds looking for pebbles we could turn into our own stone pet, we painted them white and used pens to draw different animals we would like as pets on them.
In Nursery we have been practicing writing simple sentences about different pets we may like and had a go at drawing pictures of them. We looked at how to keep our pets clean and had lots of fun washing them in the water trays!
