Welcome back to the Trinity Term. I do hope that you are not so exhausted by those long-awaited retail therapy trips that you cannot have a go at the quiz question four paragraphs down….
But first, on a serious note, in asking that we continue to be cautious over the coming weeks and adhere to the regulations set out in my start of term letter, I would like to thank you for your continued support in this matter.
Well, Spring is here, and we have certainly sprung into horticultural action, with Year 1 really enjoying learning about plants. The hands-on element proved inspiring to these budding gardeners. Thanks largely to the efforts of Mr Allmark, our Head Groundsman, the children had a wonderful Wow Day.
And they were not alone. In Year 2, where the focus was on the Great Fire of London, the children looked fantastic in their costumes. This special day enhanced the children’s knowledge and the practical approach most certainly generated a deeper understanding.
And before I move on, let’s have that one-word quiz. An edible reward awaits the first child to send me an email naming the pictured plant. (Clue: It creates a link between the two Wow Days.)
And moving on….in Prep, the children were so pleased to be back amongst their friends. It was fantastic to see the girls and boys playing cricket; getting involved in Health and fitness is, after all, so important for our children’s health and mental wellbeing. I was delighted to see all year groups involved.
Equally enjoyable was meeting Year 3 for the Golden Table lunch. It was lovely hearing all their news and to see how happy they were to be back at School.
As always, please read the letters from Mrs Andrews (Pre-Prep) and Mr Newman (Prep) regarding events taking place this term. Everything you need to know is there
Finally, I must commend the whole Staff Body here at BCS for being shortlisted for The Times, Prep School of the Year for the second year running. A great achievement!
Have a lovely weekend.
