We have been treated to some outstanding playing this week. On Wednesday we enjoyed our Year 6 concert in Chapel. The variety of music made for a most enjoyable recital and the audience was, as ever, delighted with the accomplished level of playing. It was particularly pleasing to hear some young musicians performing for the first time.

The Year 5 concert on Thursday was full to the brim with talent. The brass department was well represented and it was delightful to hear the Year 5 String Group perform with such confidence. It is always nerve-wracking performing to one’s peers but there was no sign of any butterflies yesterday.

As ever, I would like to thank Miss Akehurst for overseeing the concerts with superb attention to detail. My thanks also to the outstanding Visiting Music Teachers for their dedication in preparing the children so thoroughly for these performances; I think the teachers get more nervous than the pupils!
