Our Prep Celebration held on the final day of term was a chance to recognise some of the term’s highlights including the BCS Reading Challenge and our participation in the Primary Maths Challenge. Pupils in Years 3 to 5 were presented with their Form prizes; a Merit prize for the most merits received, a BCS Values prize and an attitudes to learning award for consistent determination and enthusiasm towards their academic studies.

Year 4 were invited up to receive their BCS Blue certificates, the culmination of their 2 year programme of study since the beginning of Year 3. The children received either a pass, merit, distinction or Headmaster’s Honours. The Sports Department then awarded their prizes to our many gifted and talented boys and girls recognising many of the record breaking performances at the recent Sports Days and House Galas.

Then it was time for the all important House results! The Headmaster’s Cup is presented to the House which has gained the most points across the whole academic year and each week the children have been counting up their house points to earn cookies as their weekly prize. The final grand total across the year was a very close run thing! In second place with a massive 55,429 points was St. Monica’s but in first place with 55,458 points was… St. Margaret’s. The girls received cupcakes with blue frosting in celebration!

The House Sports Cup which is the result of all the competitive matches played throughout the year was awarded to St. George’s (boys) and St. Margaret’s (girls).

Finally, we were joined by Pre-Prep as the whole school came together to thank and say goodbye to members of staff who are leaving us this year. They all go with our good wishes for the future and can be sure that they will always be part of the Blue Coat family, indeed we hope to see many of them back as soon as next year when we celebrate our School’s 300th anniversary.
