This week in Chapel we held our annual Prep Thanksgiving service, which was led by our Year 6 cohort. Due to our fantastic technical team, including Mr Hill, Mr Isherwood, Miss Akehurst and Mr Finglas, we live-streamed the service, enabling our parents, Governors and Prep school to watch the service from their homes and classrooms.
Dressed in their traditional Best Blue, each Year 6 class led a series of readings and poems, sharing memories and highlights of their time in Prep. The Chapel Choir, directed by Mr Nicklin, sang for the final time and Chaplain shared some thoughts from Psalm 139, reminding Year 6 that God will always be with them as they leave Blue Coat and move in to pastures new!
Mr Neeson gave his thanks to Miss Ward and Mrs Lynn, as they come to the end of many years serving at the School. A wonderful surprise visit was made by Mrs Lambert-Green, who arrived with a special gift for Mrs Lynn. Year 6 received their Blue Coat bibles from their House Heads as a lasting memory of their time here. Once the cameras were off, the children relaxed and were able to enjoy a wonderful montage of photographs and music from their time in the school prepared by Mr Newman (see below). It was a wonderful end to the service and a great memory of their years at Blue Coat.
