Year 2 had a very exciting WOW day introducing their new topic all about St Lucia. They made colourful necklaces and had a chance to try different fruits that grow in St Lucia and the Caribbean. They also learned how to accompany a calypso song using percussion instruments. In PE, the children had a great time trying out Mrs Fletcher’s Caribbean activities. These included Hula Hooping challenges, from arm, to waist, to neck and having a ‘bash’ at ‘beach’ volleyball and the limbo. No sand, but beach balls everywhere!
Everybody really enjoyed the day – what an exciting start to their learning this half term!
