To celebrate the return of the Rugby season Year 4 and 5 pupils were offered the experience of training with the Leicester Tiger coaches, a meet and greet with 2 professional players and then, to top it all off, watch Leicester Tigers take on Exeter Chiefs. Albeit the early start on a Saturday morning, the boys were excited, prepped and ready to go! We were blessed with blue skies and perfect weather for a day of Rugby.
Throughout the training session it was great to see everyone gaining confidence with running with the ball, supporting the ball carrier and making tackles. Next, we got to meet Dan Lancaster and Will Hurd who gave great accounts of what it takes to be a professional Rugby player. An additional bonus was the boys got to walk away with signed shirts from the players!
The final stage was to let out our best roars in the stadium to witness the Tigers take the victory over the Chiefs! A full day, a tiring day but a great day was had by all and hopefully the memories will last for a long time. Who knows, it may even inspire the next Ellie Genge!–
