The children in Early Years have enjoyed developing their knowledge of colours this term. This week, Nursery have looked at camouflage and how it helps animals to hide, whether for safety or for hunting. The children shared the story, A Colour of his Own by Leo Lionni, before each creating a camouflaged background for an animal of their choice. They also explored camouflage and colours in the small world areas and outside at Forest School.

Reception have been thinking about how colours can be used as a warning as well as how they can be used to identify different uniforms for different professions. The children enjoyed painting their own ‘person who helps us’, mixing the colours they needed to make the perfect uniforms. At Forest School, the children began to think about the colours of the Forest and had lots of fun exploring as well as making their own colourful forest bird.
