It’s been an extra busy week in Creative Arts this week. This week we were delighted to welcome mosaic artist Jackie Nash to school. Pupils and staff have all been helping her to make an impressive mosaic to celebrate the 300th anniversary of The Blue Coat School.
Once completed, the mosaic is going to be situated on the end of the Centenary building overlooking the playground so that everyone will be able to see it and try to spot the part they helped to make.
Both Pre-prep and Prep pupils have been coming over to visit the Creative Arts room and have really enjoyed helping to finish it. They have all learned how to cut a tile and attach it to the background, we have some talented tile cutters!
Jackie will finish the mosaic by joining all the sections together and we hope to see it in place later ready for the start of anniversary year in January 2022.
What a creative way to celebrate a 300th birthday!
