It was quite the sight to see a wave of red, yellow, green and blue BCS tops flood the Warley Woods bowl in preparation for the Scotsman Run. Mikey Nikey was there to greet everyone as the pupils raced towards their House tent followed by the active and dynamic warm up led by Miss Somerville and Miss Mockler.
Year 5’s were led to start line by their House Sports Captains, the Year 5 hare – Miss Fagan ready to lead the pack! Mr Singleton was the official starter keeping everyone in suspense until the hooter went off. The Year 5 boys’ race was won by Dan Tyler in a respectable 5 minutes 17 seconds and the girls’ race was won by Anna Newman finishing in 5 minutes 24.
Next it was time for the Year 6s, this time ready to chase Mr Gregory as the hare. Again, the start went off without a hitch thanks to Mr Neeson and Mr Singleton. Anusha Singh was the girls’ winner, completing the course in 5 minutes 38 and the fastest time of the day went to James Longworth with a time of 4 minutes 52.
All the results were collated, the overall House winners were St Philip’s. A huge well done to every pupil for taking part, each showing true BCS values in the process.
