On Tuesday night, our Music Scholars delighted with a recital worthy of many a senior school. With prowess, confidence and musicality our Prep Music Scholars performed pieces far outreaching their tender years. The Year 6 Quintet performing an extract from Schubert’s Quintet in A major ‘The Trout’, really showcased the children’s ability to collaborate musically. The BCS Music Scholars’ programme aims to advance the children’s playing through participation in small chamber groups, encouraging them to listen to each other whilst working together to bring out the expression of the piece.
Thanks to the wonders of technology you can enjoy the recital again or experience it for the first time via the video link below. Thank you to Mr Nicklin and Miss Akehurst for producing this, to Mr Elliot for accompanying on the night, and to all our Visiting Music Teachers and parents for their continued support for the children’s music-making. It was wonderful to see so many young faces in the audience, no doubt our music scholars of the future were truly inspired!
