At the end of last week, Year 5 were visited by Erik Eriksson, a fearsome Viking warrior who delivered a wonderful day for the children to complement their learning on the Vikings for this term.
The children had the opportunity to try on Viking clothing, jewellery and accessories to experience what it would have been like to live like a Viking. They also explored a variety of Viking weapons looking at a number of swords, shields, daggers and longbows which would have been used in battle and warfare! The children learnt about the daily life of the Vikings and the different roles that men and women would have played. To conclude the day, the children learnt about battle chants and then created their own. A fantastic day was had by all, thank you to Erik from the Longship Trading Company.
