As part of their Humanities topic on ‘India’, on Wednesday Year 5 had the wonderful job of recreating the Taj Mahal using only sticks and rubber bands. Recreating the structure of the Taj Mahal gave the children an opportunity to reinforce their understanding of famous Indian landmarks and culture.
The children looked at how to build different shapes using the bands and sticks, and then had to work together to put their individual pieces together. The children used all of their creative ingenuity ensuring the structure stood up unaided and proudly showed off their hard work for all to see. A big thank you to Martin from Architecture Workshops for inspiring the children throughout his time here.
