At BCS, ICT skills are embedded from a young age and the children enjoy learning lots of new skills without even realising it!
Reception have been practising their letter formation using the iPads, as well as creating pictures and playing phonics games. They have also used the iPads to consolidate their Maths skills and take photos and videos. The interactive whiteboards are often in use for whole class carpet sessions as well as independent learning. Meanwhile the remote controlled cars and Beebots support the children’s learning of different topics such as position and direction.
Before the children move up from the Early Years to Year 1, they will have had the chance to experience stand alone ICT lessons and become familiar with operating the Chromebooks. So far they have learnt how to find a simple programme and use the enter and back keys. What a great foundation and important skills they are learning!
