Jesus the miracle man is the theme for Year 1’s class assemblies this half term. 1B worked thoughtfully to re-enact the Bible story, ‘The Centurion’s Servant.’
The story is set in the town of Capernaum, a poor servant man was paralysed and very sick. His master was a centurion in the Roman army. He sat beside his bed, feeling helpless because he didn’t know what he could do to help his dying servant. The centurion wanted nothing more than for him to get better. Word spread through the streets, and Jesus was informed that the centurion had faith in him. Jesus was impressed by the centurion’s faith and he performed a miracle, healing the servant.
An excellent team effort and performance from 1B. The children worked maturely to learn their lines and acted out their parts confidently and expressively.
Well done 1B, I am very proud of you!
