There were magical events in the Dining Hall yesterday evening as for the second time The Blue Coat School celebrated Harry Potter Book Night. Children from Year 2 through to Year 6 attended in different sessions and enjoyed butterbeer milkshake and edible golden snitches before engaging in games, quizzes and a craft ably led by staff including Hogwarts very own Professor Dumbledore (Mrs Creaton) and Professor McGonagall (Mrs Redfern).

There were some really wonderful costumes on display as Harry, Ron and Hermiones mixed with Dobbys, Dumbledores and even a dementor! Thank you to all the children (and parents) who put so much effort into their outfits. It was extremely difficult to choose the best costume for each year group but Zane in Year 2 was a wonderful Lucius Malfoy complete with long blond hair and a snake headed wand. There were a sea of brave Gryffindor students in Year 3 and Ruby as Hermione, with trademark bushy hair really stood out. In Year 4 Jayden was an amazing Dobby. The effort made by Year 5s and 6s was outstanding but the awards went to Jai  in Year 5 as Sirius Black complete with prison chains and an absolutely unrecognisable Rayan as Hagrid won in Year 6.
