The Digital Leaders’ Mini Roadshow for Safer Internet Day “All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online” was the theme for this year’s Safer Internet Day, which took place on Tuesday 8 February. The event, celebrated globally, aimed to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and to encourage conversation about online safety.
Having first adapted their original script to make it appropriate for each year group, the Digital Leaders then embarked on a mini roadshow of presentations around the school, spanning across most of the week. They did a really professional job of promoting their message of ‘online respectfulness’ to the children. The Year 6 children presented to Year 2, as well as their own peer group, while Year 4 and Year 5 presented at their own respective year group assemblies.
This was a fitting way for the children to bow out from their roles as Digital Leader. Applications are already open to recruit a new group of Digital Leaders from Year 3 through to Year 6. They will then lead for the rest of the academic year.
