On Thursday 10th March, all of Year 5 visited Singers Hill Synagogue in the centre of Birmingham. Throughout the Michaelmas Term, the children studied Judaism in their Religious Education lessons, and the trip helped to enrich their learning. Our guide gave a very informative talk as he showed the children around both the Main synagogue and the Children’s synagogue. The children tried on prayer shawls, saw the beautiful Torah scrolls and admired the colourful stained-glass windows. The tour finished with the children asking our guide questions about Jewish customs and traditions.
