It has been a spectacular week of music-making at BCS. On Monday we crowned ‘cellist Elaine Nguyen (Y6) as the BCS Young Musician of the Year 2022. Mrs Nadia Hinson, our visiting adjudicator, was thrilled by the high standard of all of the Finalists, and I am very glad that it was her job to select the winner and not mine!
On Wednesday we enjoyed our last concert of the term. The Prelude Concert was a joy! I often say that there is no better way to start the day than with some music and that was certainly true this week. The performers were simply superb. The attentive audience enjoyed hearing some of our more advanced soloists play and sing. I was particularly thrilled to hear the Viola Ensemble play for the first time; what a truly rich and splendid tone the children made on their instruments. With piano duets from our Y3 and Y5 pianists, and the Year 4 Quintet brilliantly closing the concert, this was indeed a rich and rewarding recital. Bravi one and all.
