The Year 2 children have enjoyed a fantastic Commonwealth Games day in glorious spring sunshine. Representing 8 different countries who are taking part in the games this summer, they started with an opening ceremony where they learned a little bit about the history of the Commonwealth Games. Over the course of the day, they took part in a variety of sports including badminton, boxing, volleyball and bowls. Synchronised swimming and rhythmic gymnastics were also highlights for many of the children. The day was rounded off with a closing ceremony, where the children were presented with gold medal biscuits. A great day was enjoyed by everybody and the children represented their countries with enthusiasm and energy.
