As we head into The Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend, we are delighted to share some news which is also worthy of celebration. BCS pupil Siyona Rao ( 4LJ) will have her artwork featured in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant.

The River of Hope Jubilee art competition was created to highlight Her Majesty The Queen’s great love and respect for the natural environment. Through this programme young people from around the world were encouraged to think about the importance of safeguarding the future of their own natural environment.

Siyona is one of only 200 winners chosen from the nationwide contest which was entered by hundreds of schools. The competition winners will see their work digitally printed onto silk banners which will form part of the pageant.  To add to the excitement, we are delighted to announce that on the banner which features Siyona’s work, there is a border which includes other entries from BCS pupils. This is a wonderful bonus as it means so many other children who entered the competition have also had their work included.

We are so proud of Siyona and all the BCS pupils who have had their work chosen to be a part of this exciting historical event. Don’t forget to look out for the BCS banner during the Jubilee Pageant!
