The sun was shining at The Blue Coat School on Tuesday for our Year 3 and Year 4 Sports Days. All of the children have been working incredibly hard in their PE lessons over the course of the Trinity Term to understand the intricacies of the field events and to discover whether they are most suited to the sprint or middle distance running events.
The morning gave Year 3 a chance to shine, and it was lovely to watch them all work hard for their Houses in the events that took place. The House system continues to thrive here at BCS and Sports Day plays a huge role in that. Supported by their House mascots and looking fabulous in their House T Shirts, Year 3 had a morning to remember – the post event Calippos were well received too!
The afternoon was the turn of Year 4 and two school records were broken. Arya Madhavan performed superbly in the high jump and Arya Bhala threw the javelin magnificently. All of the Year 4 children displayed great determination and resilience in the events they competed in – they should all be very proud of their efforts. The final event of the day was the shuttle relay, which proved very exciting indeed.
A huge thank you to the Sports Department and their team of helpers on what was another very successful Sports Day.
