The whole of Prep came together on Wednesday to look back on all that has taken place during a busy Trinity Term. Mrs West was very proud of the children and the learning that has taken place in the classroom and there was much to celebrate across all subjects. Then, Mr Nicklin wanted to congratulate our young musicians and those Year 6 children who wowed us all with the recent performance of Bugsy Malone. Next, it was the turn of Mrs Bennett and the Sports Department who were able to look back on a hugely successful term, both in terms of results and the progress made by all children. The first half of the assembly was brought to a close by sharing Mr Hill’s brilliant photo montage and this can be found below.
After a short interval, and a marvellous performance by the Year 3 and 4 Choir, we moved to more formal prizegiving for children in Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5. We awarded Merit Prizes for children who have received the most merits within a Form, a Progress Prize for those who have made outstanding progress in their academic work, an Achievement Prize for outstanding quality in academic work, an Attitudes to Learning award for those who are always very committed to their learning, and finally a BCS Values award to the boy and girl in each Form who epitomise the Blue Coat Values.
Mr Neeson then addressed the Prep school to remind the children that success must never be measured in the short term – we must all continue striving to be the best we can be.
It was then the chance to celebrate the ESB results in Year 3, which were very impressive, and this was followed by BCS Blue Presentations and EBS certificates for those in Year 4 – congratulations to all of the children.
After a wonderful piano performance from Jolin, Mrs Gilmore our Chair of Governors spoke so highly of the pupils in Prep and she recognised the hard work and dedication of all staff at the school.
