U9 Football v Warwick School
The U9 Football team travelled to Warwick on a blustery afternoon. It was great to see all pupils highly engaged in their football fixture trying their best for their respective teams. The players organised themselves into positions and are now starting to understand the importance of this; to allow their team to advance forwards towards goal. Additionally the players are understanding why you need to make the pitch wide when attacking to create space for a cross or a pass towards goal so players can then shoot. Players of the day were Charles, Emmanuel, Roux, and Luca who tried their hardest for their teams showing excellent dribbling and passing skills.
Result: 1 Win, 2 Draws, 1 Loss
U9 Development Netball v Norfolk House
This Tuesday afternoon, the U9 girls played 5-a-side netball against Norfolk House. This is the first time we have played Norfolk House this year, it’s always a good fixture, with lots of focus on fun. With the opportunity to play in different positions, the girls demonstrated a good understanding of the different positions. Well done to each and every one of the girls today you played really well, showcasing how much progress you have made this year.

U11 A, B, & C Football Festival @ Warwick
On a cold Wednesday afternoon, BCS had three teams travel to Warwick for a football festival where all teams played three fixtures against hosts Warwick, The Croft, and Solihull Prep School. The U11A team played their three games and won two games and lost one. Throughout the afternoon the team showcased some excellent passing and moving looking to transition the ball through midfield to then create goal-scoring opportunities. Noah played well in central midfield setting up attacks and Toby and Dan were full of running with Toby being clinical in front of goal scoring numerous goals throughout the afternoon. The U11B team won one fixture and lost two fixtures. The team played some brilliant football, looking to get the ball down and pass the ball with Vidur playing like a sweeper keeper and Fotios starting the attacking moves from defence. Sam was clinical up at the front, looking to take on defenders and score goals for the team. The U11C team showed excellent teamwork, organising themselves and showing excellent positional understanding. The team looked to get the ball out wide to Ismaeel and Jai to start attacks with Xander being a menace at the front, causing defenders a nuisance. In defence, Hasan and William were solid making sure no attacks broke through the BCS defence. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, with all players working hard for their teams and really showing true BCS spirit.
U11D Football v Warwick
This game is up there with one of my favourites of the season so far. A 1-0 defeat doesn’t sound all that positive, however, the nature of the game, the progress made and the maturity of the players was a pleasure to experience. The game went back and forth with either team potentially scoring. Warwick played a more direct route and looked for early passes, BCS looked to dribble and control the ball more. A combination of both teams would have been perfect. Unfortunately, for BCS, on one occasion, a long ball found its way to their striker who made to the most of half a chance. In reality, this was an incredibly close game and a draw would had been a better reflection– unfortunately in sport though, the scoreline doesn’t always go your way.
Result: BCS 0-1 Warwick
U11 E Football v Warwick
In a game of fluctuating fortunes, the U11E’s demonstrated the very best of their BCS values. The game was an end to end affair with Warwick just coming out on top but the game finished with both teams having thoroughly enjoyed themselves and despite being caked in mud everyone went home happy. Their were notable performances from Otis and Max and well as some excellent finishing from Kingsley. The game could easily have finished 5-5 with missed penalties and brilliant double saves from the Warwick goalkeeper, but it didn’t matter as everyone played their part in a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of football.
Result: BCS 4-6 Warwick
