The Twits by Roald Dahl – Review by Sophia 3RB
This story is about Mr and Mrs Twit. They live together in a big house with pet monkeys in the garden. Mr and Mrs Twit do mean and nasty things to each other. There is an especially funny bit about worms and spaghetti, but you will need to read it if you want to find out!
I really liked when the Roly Poly Bird came. He is a nice bird and was a friend of the monkeys.
This is a very funny book even though the Twits are mean. Everybody will like it.
Danger is Everywhere by David O’Doherty – Review by Kunal 5VF
This is one of the funniest book that I have read. It is about Doctor Noel Zone who is a dangerologist. A dangerologist is a word that Doctor Noel Zone made up. The thing that didn’t make it 5 stars would be that instead of saying the abbreviations every time you could say what it means.
One example that is funny in the book was on the front cover with all of the pictures and it even says at the bottom ‘This book has sharp corners’. I found it very interesting and extremely funny and it is also quite story like. There was a toilet shark which was a shark that would come and bite you if you spent too long on the toilet. There was also a toothbrush snake which hid in your toothbrush and toothpaste box. Then when you come to brush your teeth it would come up into your nose and stay there forever so you would need to play a tune that is NOT a love song.
I would recommend it to someone who is maybe 6 years old or older. This is only because for children who are 5 or younger, they might not understand some of the funny things.

Esme and Jerome Squalor own the massive penthouse were they will stay. Esme is obsessed with the latest trends and is the sixth best financial advisor in town. Jerome on the other hand, is quite shy. Finally the day arrives and the Baudelaires think they know which box the Quagmire’s are in. Are they correct? After all there are 50 boxes, the chances are pretty unlikely.
This jaw gripping page turner is one of the most terrifying but exciting books of all time. I strongly recommend it to Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.
