The Blue Coat School Chapel was built in 1933, with a Chaplain appointed to lead our collective worship and uphold the Christian values throughout the school.
In October 2019, we launched ChapelTube, a video update, presented by our School Chaplain. This offers an insight into what is happening across the school in assemblies and in Chapel. Since Covid-19, this has now evolved into a weekly message to Pre-Prep and a Prep ‘Thought for the week’.
ChapelTube is produced in house at The Blue Coat School. Presented by the School Chaplain, Becky Drake. Directed and edited by Nick Hill and Jeremy Nicklin.

Y6’s final STEM challenge of the year was to design, build, test and improve a fan driven model boat. Fan boats are a popular means of transportation in marshy or shallow areas where a submerged propeller would be impractical, most notably in the Florida Everglades. In recent years, fan boats have proven indispensable for flood,…

This week we marked 299 years since our school’s foundation was laid, with our annual Founders’ Day service. Y6’s latest STEM Challenge started with a study of the country of Nepal, where crops growing in the fertile soil at the top of the mountains need to be transported to the local markets at the bottom of the mountains. Once again, the front and back pitches are filled with enthusiastic Year 4 and 5 runners every Thursday morning. The weather has been that little bit kinder than those winter dark mornings. If you ask the pupils why they attend, some would say for the love of running, others for the love of porridge! Whatever…
