As we wrap up another bustling week here, it is impossible not to feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the myriad of wonderful opportunities that our School community has on offer.

And proud, too, of what our pupils have achieved both inside and outside the School’s boundaries.

We began the week by learning of an outstanding achievement. News came through that BCS has been recognized as one of the top 50 cricketing schools in the UK. This accolade is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our pupils, staff, and the entire BCS family. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this unbelievable achievement – your support has been invaluable. I am filled with immense pride as I reflect on this accomplishment, and I cast my mind back to the warm days of the summer, when our teams were triumphant in so many local and regional events.

Even as the evenings lengthen, the rain threatens and the frosts begin, our girls and boys continue to excel with bat and ball. Special commendation goes to those children from Years 5 and 6 who have been selected for the Warwickshire and Worcester County Academies. This selection is another feather in our cap, showcasing our children’s commitment to sport.

Less physically dynamic but equally noteworthy is the achievement of our Chess Team, members of whom deserve a round of applause for their participation in the Warwickshire Chess Championships. Mrs Reiner reported that our students displayed excellent tactics and strategy, leading to some impressive wins. Congratulations to all those team members for representing BCS with such skill, concentration and sportsmanship. They now move on to the next round in the New Year.

The musical talent at BCS was once again in the spotlight on Thursday with a spectacular Prelude Concert performed by Years 4 and 5. The level of musicianship was of a customary high standard. This is not just a sign of natural talent. It testifies to the hard work and dedication of our young musicians, who are a credit to our School, and I commend them for their inspiring performances.

Thursday also brought the joy of the Pre-Prep assembly, a highlight of my week. This time, our theme was ‘winter,’ with a special focus on snowflakes. We explored the beauty of individuality and uniqueness, drawing parallels with the way that God has created each of us. The children’s enthusiastic responses were heartwarming; their excitement for the upcoming Christmas plays almost palpable. Do make sure that you have them in your calendar. They are not to be missed!

A big thank you to all the parents who have contributed bottles for the Tombola today. Your generosity is setting the stage for what promises to be a fantastic Christmas Fayre organised by The Friends next Saturday. I encourage everyone to join in and to embrace the festive spirit at this event.

As we look forward to the week ahead, filled with more learning and achievements, I wish you all a restful and enjoyable weekend.
