U9 Netball v EHS

On a gorgeous sunny afternoon, the U9 teams delivered a fantastic performance against EHS. Blue Coat dominated from the start, passing the ball confidently down the court and working seamlessly as a team. Players linked up brilliantly, demonstrating excellent movement into space and strong communication. Their teamwork and determination were evident throughout, making for a thrilling game. Both teams showed great sportsmanship and enthusiasm, but it was a particularly impressive display of Blue Coat netball. Well done to all players for their effort and energy on court!

 

U9 Netball v Winterfold 

The U9 girls put in a spirited performance against Winterfold, showing fantastic progress as the match developed. From the first whistle, they demonstrated strong defensive skills, making some excellent interceptions to disrupt the opposition’s play.

As the game progressed, the team grew in confidence, working well together and applying what they have learned in training. With all players rotating positions, they showed a great understanding of each role, adapting seamlessly and displaying impressive versatility.

It was brilliant to see their teamwork and determination shine through, with each player contributing to a well-contested match. Well done to all the girls for their hard work and enthusiasm!

U11 Netball v EHS 

The U11 netball teams displayed fantastic determination and teamwork in their recent fixtures against EHS, securing one well-earned victory alongside two closely contested losses.

Throughout the afternoon, our players demonstrated impressive defensive skills, making crucial interceptions and applying consistent pressure on their opponents. Their resilience and commitment were evident in every match, with some excellent passages of play showcasing their developing netball ability.

It was great to see their teamwork flourish, with accurate passing, strong movement, and growing confidence on the court. I hope they continue to build on these skills and take their enthusiasm for netball into their senior schools. Well done to all involved!

U8 Netball Festival 

On a bright and sunny day, the BCS U8 netball team hosted Solihull Netball Festival for a day filled with energy, excitement, and, most importantly, fun. The festival was a fantastic opportunity for the players to showcase their skills, meet new friends, and enjoy the sport they love.

From the first whistle, it was clear that everyone was ready to have a great time, and that’s exactly what happened! The teams played with enthusiasm and sportsmanship, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere throughout the day. Both teams took turns on court, with each player giving their best effort and trying out different positions, all while sharing lots of laughs.

The games were fast-paced and full of action, with plenty of opportunities for all the players to get involved. The BCS team demonstrated excellent teamwork and showed off some impressive passing, dodging, and shooting skills. There were some great goals scored, but what stood out most was how everyone supported one another, encouraging teammates with every pass and every play.

While the scores weren’t the focus of the day, it was clear that the BCS players gained confidence with every game. The festival’s emphasis was on enjoyment and development, and that was evident in the way the players embraced the opportunity to learn and grow. Whether they were on the attack or defending their goal, everyone was having fun, trying their best, and playing lots of netball!

The event was a huge success, not just in terms of the matches played but in fostering a love of the game among the young players. The BCS U8 team left the festival with smiles on their faces, new friends made, and memories of a fantastic day spent playing netball. It was a reminder that the true spirit of the game is about having fun and enjoying the experience, and everyone at the festival certainly did that!

U10 Netball v EHS

The U10 team played an exhilarating and fast-paced game against EHS, showcasing a dominant performance from start to finish. The girls were in excellent form, moving the ball with speed and precision, making it clear they were in control throughout the match.

From the first whistle, BCS exhibited their high energy and skill, playing a well-organized game. The fast transitions between attack and defense allowed them to maintain consistent pressure on EHS. The team’s excellent communication and understanding on court were evident, with each player contributing to both offensive and defensive efforts.

It was a fantastic display of growth and progress from the girls, with noticeable improvement in their coordination, decision-making, and overall teamwork. Their passing was sharp, their movement fluid, and their defensive work was strong, making it difficult for EHS to find a rhythm.

In the end, the BCS girls dominated the match, earning a well-deserved victory. The performance was a testament to the hard work and dedication they’ve put into their netball development. A great afternoon of netball, full of energy, passion, and progress!

U11 IAPS Netball National Finals 

The IAPS U11 Netball National Finals were held on Wednesday 19 March 2025 at Bryanston School in Blandford Forum, Dorset. This prestigious event brought together top-performing teams from regional qualifiers across the country.

Traveling down the day before to ensure they were fully prepared for the competition, the girls were so excited and ready for this competition; waking up bright and early to a fresh and sunny spring day. They arrived with plenty of time for a thorough warm-up and mental preparation, ready to showcase what they are made of and what they have been working so hard all year for!

In the group stages, the team played with great determination and teamwork. They won three of their matches and drew one, securing them the runner-up position in their group. This strong performance earned them a spot in the cup.

BCS v Bablake 11-5

Smashing their way through the quarter finals, they made their way excitedly through to the semis, where they faced Mount Heath School. The semi-final match saw some incredibly impressive netball, with both teams playing at a high level. At half time, the score was 5-3 in our favour.

However, despite their best efforts, Mount Heath came back fighting and managed to turn over some early balls, BCS didn’t drop their heads though and fought back. In the end in this highly contested match, the ball ended up going end up end. Unfortunately, the girls were narrowly defeated by just one goal, losing 9-8. It was a heartbreaking loss at the time, but the girls held their heads high and remained proud of their efforts.

In the end, the team finished in 4th place which was an outstanding achievement, considering over 320 schools had entered the competition. Top 4 in the country, WOW! 

Coupled together with games afternoons, squad, TED, intervention sessions, these girls have trained over 50 hours in school in under 12 weeks. This was a real testament to their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship, as it shone through every match. They can be incredibly proud of their performance at such a prestigious event.

Their love for the sport has made this term an absolute dream, they have been so incredibly focused and determined and their hard work really paid off! Well done to all the girls for their incredible effort. Our wish is that you continue to play and love the sport for many, many years to come.
