U11 Hockey v Repton

Result: 2-0 BCS win 

Players of the Match: Rayan, James, Siyuan

These boys have been working hard as a squad in both lessons and TED since the start of the academic year and Repton, being a renowned hockey school, was going to be a great indicator of how much progress they have made.

We started off tentatively and had moments of self doubt on the ball for the first few minutes which wasn’t a surprise. However, Loic got on the ball and started distributing it to James and our attack began down the left. We grew in confidence with each pass made by Siyuan and driving down the wings from Finn and Jago. Umar was throwing himself at every cross only to be stopped by their very good goalkeeper. 

Not to be out done in defence, Rayan was hitting tackles like a rock and then calmly plating the ball into spaces for our attack to move onto. When called upon, George kept his concentration and, for his first experience in goal, he performed well. Keeping a clean sheet, having a lot of possession on the ball and seeing the effort the boys were willing to put in was a pleasure to watch and a great match to umpire.
