U10 Netball v Solihull

Lily’s Team

This was the team’s first match since last year so we were looking forward to getting going. The girls did well at marking with some great play from Elsa and Rosemary who proved strong in defence. However, work needs to be continued on our footwork and quick decision making as we struggled to keep possession of the ball. With the temperature starting to dip, our catching became difficult (particularly from the overhead passes we were using). Although we were getting the ball into the shooting circle, we kept failing to convert the shots into goals which is something all the girls can work on. The match was even and a good show of basic netball and it gives us a great insight into what we need to work on in the coming weeks. A good start to the netball season.

U10 Netball v Solihull

Mrs Bennett’s Team

This Monday, the U10 girls played against Solihull. Eager to get started, the girls warmed up very well as a team. Winning the toss, BCS had the first centre pass. Moving the ball into their attacking third, they managed to score fairly quickly, which was a great start! However, as the quarters continued, Solihull got into a groove and passed the ball through their team mates at pace. Unfortunately, we were a little slower to release the ball and Solihull made lots of interceptions giving them lots more opportunities at goal. The final score was 6-1 to Solihull. A good competitive match, well done girls.

U9 Football v West House

In their first games of the season, both U9 teams showed great determination against West House. The teams battled hard, displaying strong teamwork and resilience, whilst impressing with their energy and enthusiasm. Excellent defending and some well-taken goals highlighted the matches, with all players giving their best efforts. Despite facing tough opposition, the boys showed fantastic sportsmanship and a positive attitude throughout. A great start to the season, with plenty of promise for the games ahead.

U10 Football v West House

The U10’s made the short trip to Richmond Hill Road to take on West House in our first fixture of the year. The first half was relatively even in terms of possession but some wayward finishing from BCS and a superb shot by the West House midfielder meant we went in 2-0 down. The 2nd half though was a completely different story as the team pressed higher up the field with Garrick, Nyre, Henry, Joe and Adam winning the ball back high up the pitch and creating lots of chances. Joe bagged one at the near post whilst Nyre stole the show with two create finishes as the boys ran out deserved 3-2 victors. It was a great game played in a nice spirit and the boys did really well to win the game but more importantly showed great resilience and perseverance at 2-0 down to come back, well done.

U11 Netball v Solihull

From the first whistle, our attacking trio of Pippa, Summer, and Freya showcased their exceptional netball ability, moving with grace and precision to outmanoeuvre the opposition’s defence. Their slick passing, quick footwork, and accurate shooting ensured a steady flow of goals throughout the match.

Defensively, the team was rock-solid and simply could not be broken down. Hannah, Ava, Emily and Alice put on a masterclass in intercepting, reading the game superbly to cut off passes and regain possession time and again. Their relentless pressure frustrated the opposition and set the platform for our attacking play.

The whole team who adapted brilliantly in both attack and defence, showing great versatility and awareness across the court. Their ability to transition between roles seamlessly was a key factor in our success.

This 30-5 win reflects not just our dominance in all areas of the court but also the fantastic teamwork, skill, and determination displayed by every player. Well done, team!
