U9 Rugby Festival v RGS
The Grange was a memorable event, marking the first-ever contact rugby games for three eager teams. The focus of the day was not on the results but on introducing the young players to the new rules and the physical aspects of contact rugby.
Each team displayed great enthusiasm, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout the festival, making it a fantastic learning experience. Although no scores were kept, the success of the festival was measured in the growth and enjoyment of the players, all of whom left the field with smiles and a newfound confidence in their abilities.
The day was a great introduction to contact rugby, and all teams showed tremendous potential for future matches!
U11 Rugby v RGS & King’s Hawford
Two teams travelled to RGS on Wednesday for a triangular with RGS and King’s Hawford. Both teams performed well, Samson was a revelation with his turn of speed and agility, but more importantly his hunger and desire in defence with one try saving tackle showing great commitment.
Tom and Archie both showed great catching and passing skills but our ball retention was not good enough meaning we dropped a lot of balls and got turned over in contact. The A team have a lot of potential but this will only be realised if the players commit to the squad sessions on a Tuesday night.
Representing the school at the highest level should be seen as an honour and pupils are expected to be committed to this. It is through this level of commitment that we have been IAPS Champions twice in the last 3 years.

U10 Rugby v King’s HawfordÂ
In their first game of the season, BCS faced a notoriously strong King Hawford side. Despite the tough opposition, BCS displayed remarkable tenacity, particularly in defense, with relentless tackling that forced multiple turnovers. Their hard work paid off as they kept pressure on King Hawford throughout. BCS were also highly effective in attack, with smooth handling and brilliant offloads that kept the ball alive and the attack flowing. Though King’s Hawford’s strength was evident, BCS showed great promise with their team spirit and cohesion. A commendable start to the season!
