U11 Winterfold Athletics MeetÂ
This was our first meet of the summer and a first time experience for some of our athletes to compete on a real track. After a chance to warm up, the afternoon started with the sprint races where Lana, Mischa, Ben and Samson competed and came top 3 in their respective races. One of their notable strengths has been their performance in the 200m and shotput events, showcasing impressive speed and strength. Additionally, Roman showed considerable aptitude in discus and javelin events, demonstrating excellent technique and control and taking the win in both events.
In terms of teamwork, all pupils supported their fellow athletes during practice attempts and competitions. We’d like to give a special mention to Sam and Kitty for throwing a real javelin and Elle, Esther and Rayaan for throwing a real discus for the first time. They all actively encouraged their peers during challenging moments, creating a positive and motivating atmosphere.
