Mrs Bennett’s Team
In an exciting and hard-fought match, our U11 girls hockey team showcased their skills and determination against Eversfield, coming away with a well-earned victory. From the outset, we dominated in attack, putting consistent pressure on our opponents’ defence.
Kitty opened the scoring with a well-placed shot after some excellent team play, setting the tone for our attacking intent. Pippa followed up shortly after with a clinical finish, doubling our lead and giving the team confidence as they continued to push forward.
Despite our dominance in attack, Eversfield put up a strong fight, and we had to dig deep defensively at key moments. The backline held firm, with the team working well together to protect the lead, ensuring Eversfield couldn’t capitalise on their chances.
The final whistle blew with the scoreline reflecting our efforts: a tight but well-deserved win. A fantastic team performance all around, with special mention to Nina who in her first match for U11 got nominated Player of the Match.

The U11 Girls hockey team delivered a commanding performance against Eversfield, securing an impressive 3-0 victory. From the first whistle, the team showed focus and determination, sticking to the game plan and maintaining their shape throughout the match.
The scoring was opened with a fantastic reverse stick goal from Ava-Mae, who displayed both skill and composure to find the back of the net. Our second goal came after an outstanding run down the right wing by Lana, whose pace and control were key to launching a great attack. Ava-Mae was in the perfect position to finish it off, claiming her second goal of the match.
The team continued to defend strongly and remained organised, frustrating Eversfield’s attempts to respond. Lana then added a third, rounding off the scoring with another well-taken goal to put the result beyond doubt.
Freya was named Player of the Match for her tireless work and leadership on the field, contributing to both our solid defence and smooth transitions into attack.
It was a well-rounded team effort that highlighted the girls’ commitment to following the game plan and playing with discipline.
U9 Hockey v EversfieldÂ
Blue Coat dominated both games and are showing great promise. The girls are starting to learn to play as a team, run ahead and pass the ball forward and into the D. The girls scored some great goals, passing the ball wide dribbling down the win, then crossing it into the D for a hard strike on goal! In defence, we were strong in the tackle but now need a bit more composure to look up and pass to a Blue Coat player. A good performance, well done girls.
U11 Rugby v RGS
All boys travelled to RGS: The Grange on Wednesday and enjoyed a competitive afternoon of rugby. The A’s were without Samson which blunted our attack as his speed and evasion skills have been a key weapon. They did, however, put in a creditable display and, although narrowly losing, there were a lot of positives. Kavidh showed touches of brilliance, if only he could understand what being a team player is about he could be a superb rugby player with his evasion skills and good support running. Roman was again exceptional in defence making cover tackle after cover tackle. Tom and Archie did the basics well in terms of tackling and looking after the ball. As a team, they need to be more aggressive and confrontational, they need to concentrate more and understand that rugby is the ultimate team game because you need to be able to trust each other to have each others back. A rugby team is sometimes as strong as its weakest line and too many of this team haven’t shown enough commitment to grow the team by not turning up to squad or missing games and therefore letting their teammates down. To the lads that have been attending regularly well done, to those that haven’t let’s hope we see a big improvement in commitment and attitude moving forward.
