U11 ESCA Regional Finals

In a thrilling day of cricket at the U11 ESCA Regional Finals, our team secured victories in the pairs cricket format to qualify for the ESCA National Finals at Oakham School on Thursday 4 July. The first match saw a nail-biting finish against RGS: The Grange, where our team clinched victory by a slender margin of 2 runs. Strong performances with both bat and ball ensured the team maintained composure under pressure, setting a solid foundation for the day.

The second match against Packwood Haugh was a more decisive affair. Our bowlers delivered an exceptional performance, restricting the opposition’s scoring opportunities. This disciplined effort was complemented by strategic batting, which saw the team achieve a comfortable 20-run victory. The synergy and sportsmanship displayed by the players were commendable, reflecting their hard work and dedication throughout the season.

These results not only highlight the team’s competitive spirit but also their ability to execute game plans effectively under varying conditions. We look forward to the national finals with optimism and determination, ready to compete at the highest level.

U10 Cricket v Warwick

Result: 280-249 BCS win

Players of the Match: Emily and Summer

A fantastic win and a great display of cricket by the U10 girls. The girls have made great progress this term, all now bowling with pace and accuracy. In the field we are much sharper and quicker to the ball and are now backing up most of the time. With the bat we are playing a variety of shots and running hard between the wickets. Our calling and decision making has improved. The girls are blossoming into a good side. Well done.

U10 Cricket v Warwick

This Monday the U10 girls hosted Warwick Prep at home and delivered outstanding performances across the board. Demonstrating brilliant skills in batting, bowling, and fielding, all our teams emerged victorious, showcasing the results of their committed training and teamwork.

U9 Cricket v Warwick

Results: 263-227 BCS win, 259-195 BCS win

Players of the Matches: Jaya, Alice, Amelia, Adeline and Eloise

What a way to finish the term of competitive cricket! The girls last match of the season and they played with style and finesse. Demonstrating, not only huge progress but also an advanced set of bowling, batting and fielding skills. Both teams out played their opponents this week, making it very difficult for Warwick to get ahead! The girls tactical awareness from both teams was also very advanced making it a very enjoyable afternoon. Well done girls

U11 Cricket v Eversfield

Result: 302-217 BCS win

Players of the Match: Susie and Esther

Well in their last ever match representing BCS the girls did not disappoint. Taking a commanding lead right from the start our knowledge and understanding of the game was far superior than that of Eversfield. The first pair of Arya and Alayna made a solid start scoring 15 runs, in second was Tej and Susie who between them scored another 35 runs, our third pairing now sold as a batting pair were Elle and Esther who contributed 28 runs and our final pair of Annabel a Mischa 24 runs. All taking advantage of the high bouncing windball and finding the boundary.

With only 12 overs in total it is amazing that we took 11 Wickets. The accurate bowling and quick movement in the field meant Eversfield could just not find a rhythm and just could not clock up many runs as we either caught the ball, ran them out or bowled them. I have really enjoyed working with the girls over Trinity and I am glad they are leaving on a high note and I hope that they continue to play cricket in their next schools and on into the future.

U11 Cricket v West House

The U11 cricket team faced West House in a series of four games, with two hosted at BCS and two at West House. In one notable game, the team secured a victory by 15 runs, showcasing impressive batting and bowling performances. Jasper, Noah, and Dhruv were outstanding with the bat, forming the backbone of the team’s innings with their consistent scoring and strategic shot selection. Their efforts set a challenging target for West House. On the bowling front, Umar’s accurate and economic spells were pivotal, restricting the opposition’s run flow and applying consistent pressure.

The remaining three games prioritised skill development and performance over competition, allowing players from both teams to hone their abilities and enjoy the spirit of the game. This focus on individual and team improvement highlighted the commitment to fostering young talent and ensuring a positive experience for all participants.

Overall, the matches provided an excellent blend of competitive cricket and developmental opportunities, reflecting the teams’ dedication to both winning and growth.

U11 Cricket v King’s Hawford

What an excellent display of cricket, the girls should be extremely proud of the progress they have made. BCS won the toss and opted to field, all the girls are now bowling with accuracy and most are able to get some good pace on the ball. Sharp fielding made it very hard for Kings to get runs. It was then our turn to bat and this is when the girls really shined, smacking the ball for 4 or 6 and running hard between the wickets to get a huge score! Truly a deserved win; well done girls.
