This year’s Prep Sports Days were a fine display of the sporting commitment and prowess our pupils possess. In the lead up to the event, our Prep pupils worked incredibly hard in their PE lessons to understand and master the intricacies of the track and field events that would take place.

At the start of each Sports Day, excitement bubbled across the School; even our Pre-Prep pupils were feeling the electricity. Pupils from Years 3 to 6 arrived at School dressed in their House colours, eager to take part in friendly competition and make themselves proud. As the 6 Houses paraded onto the Front Field, it was time for the events to begin.

Over the two days, our Prep pupils sprinted, launched and jumped through their events. As the sun showered the spectators, it was clear to see the immense effort our pupils put into their attempts, often providing examples of Olympic level sport.

Across the junior and senior events, a number of School records were broken. Their names and event details are listed below.

The final event, the eagerly anticipated shuttle relay, saw each House sprinting back and forth in order to secure themselves points. With lightning-fast baton exchanges and incredible speeds, each year group roared in delight as they inched closer to being crowned champions. As the teams completed their sprints, the winning House erupted in celebration, delighted to be one step closer to the Headmaster’s House Cup.

The 2024 Sports Days were a huge success, with each pupil displaying a respect for healthy competition while maintaining the BCS Values.

Our Sports Department work extremely hard throughout the academic year to promote healthy lifestyles amongst our Prep pupils as well as providing a platform to develop their skills, both sporting and social. Our Prep pupils should be incredibly proud of themselves for their fantastic efforts this year, not only in their own events but also when supporting classmates. A massive well done to you all.
