A wonderful Year 6 cohort set sail,
From Blue Coat School with many a tale.
To France they went, with spirits high,
With Anthony from Newcastle, and Alex, the Greek guy.
These coach drivers, with grins so wide,
Took them safely on a ferry ride.
From Dover to Calais, across the sea,
To Château d’Ebblinghem in glee.
Each night they dined and practiced French,
Challenging vocabulary, their accents quenched.
They played football, volleyball and frolicked with zest,
Spike ball too, before their nightly rest.
Kangaroo Court, a nightly fun,
With His Lordship, judgements were done.
Silly hats for those in dismay,
Serving teachers meals the next day.
To Belgium they went, on day number one,
Despite rain so heavy, still such fun.
Passchendaele Museum, memorials wet,
A chocolate factory made it the best day yet.
Parc Asterix called with rides so grand,
Rollercoasters wild across the land.
Hats flew off on Egypt’s speed,
Laughter and joy, a thrilling need.
Crêpes, waffles, and bubble tea,
Ice cream too, oh what a spree!
A French market and aquarium next,
With a sea lion show, they were perplexed.
Beach time in Boulogne, sun and sand,
Hours of play, it was so grand.
On coach journeys, they sang and cheerfully played,
Bingo and quizzes, special memories made.
The week flew by, too fast to cope,
Leaving France, with all our belongings we hope.
Mr. Matthews and Miss Taylor, so grand,
Legends for organizing this wonderland.
Back to Blue Coat with stories to share,
A year six trip beyond compare.
A French adventure, laughter and cheer,
A magical memory, and a special bond for many a year.
