How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell

Review by Isaac (3JO)

The book was about a boy called Hiccup and his friend Fishlegs (they are Vikings) and they need to get a dragon each or they will be kicked out of the tribe, or they will die. They have to train their dragons before Thor’s Thursday. Hiccup’s dragon is called Toothless. It’s because it is tiny and it’s got no teeth. It still hurts if bites you.

I liked all the action in the book, but it was a bit scary when they got attacked by a giant sea dragon.

I would recommend it to people who like dragons.

The World’s Worst Pets by David Walliams

Review by Angela (4ES)

I love this book it has lots of stories about how pets can be badly behaved. I just had to read this as soon as I saw this book! The World’s Worst Pets has a bunny, a fish, a horse and my favourite animal of the book which was the cat, she was a villain!  I thought she was a sweet little pussy cat but she most certainly wasn’t. While she was with her owner she had to eat a live piranha for food! That would feel super snappy. YUCK! Anyway I love the part where the goldfish starts to make some strange noises from his bottom.

I would recommend this to everyone even teachers, as it really put a smile on my face and it’s a wonderful book to read. I would recommend this book for children 6 years old or older as some younger children might not like some of the animals getting into trouble for their dastardly deeds.

There’s a Boy in the Girl’s Bathroom by Louis Sachar

Review by Eason (5AG)

The book was about a boy called Bradley Chalker who sits at the back of the classroom on the last chair. He likes to fight with girls and beat them up, and his teachers say his behavior is unacceptable. But, when a new counsellor comes, she actually likes Bradley Chalker. Will Bradley start believing in himself and change his behavior?

I enjoyed the part when Bradley tried beating up some girls and a girl called Melinda gave him a black eye!

I would strongly recommend this book to people who enjoy funny books.

The Carpet People by Terry Pratchett

Review by Sophia (6JW)

This book is about some people – by people I mean pieces of dust that modeled into people and started lives in the carpet – who live in the carpet. One thing I must tell you is that in the middle the book gets a little bit confusing but please do not stop because the book then gets much better.

What I loved about this book is that there are so many twists you wouldn’t expect. The bad creatures in this book are called mouls and they have knives with deathly poison on the end of them.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves adventure stories and plot twists like me and I absolutely loved it! It is also on the reading list.
